There are staff positions already made and set up. You can see the colors for them on the User Legend. We already have three Clan Leaders, which is good staff back-up for now. They're like mini-mods for their own Clans. Also, deputies will also have a few moderator powers, so they're even more back-up for the Clan Leaders.
Moderators will be chosen personally by me and I may or may not discuss who to choose as a moderator with Clan Leaders.
And no, I will not be choosing simply because of whether or not they are my friends. I will be judging their behavior towards others on the site, how they handle situations, their roleplaying skills, etc. This is why there isn't another mod here yet. You will know when a moderator is chosen because it will be announced.
I disapprove of using forms for applying staff, because then I don't know whether or not I trust that person to be staff yet, and then things could get out of hand when staff do not trust each other. Nothing is going to change my mind about using forms. This is how things have always gone on GOA, so that's how it's staying.
