Icefire drew in a sigh, turquoise colored eyes fixed on the waterfall in front of her. She knew she should have been hunting or doing something productive for the clan, but she had hunted all day, and lately couldn't help but feel drawn to the scenery in front of her. Besides, the waterfall was one of the few places that made her feel content; in contrast to opinions outside of Hailclan, who thought the waterfall's thundering water was too loud to actually be considered enjoyable.
The mist from the crashing water tickled her face as she breathed in the fresh smell of the water yet again. Stretching, she decided a nap by the waterfall might be refreshing - the fresh kill pile was well-stocked, and last time she checked, she didn't have an apprentice to train. Satisfied, she stretched again and flopped just outside of the cave.
Icefire expected to fall asleep rather swiftly - she always did when she slept by the waterfall, but this time was different. Irritated at this point, she sat up once again, licking a paw and drawing it over her ear. She definitely felt exhausted, so she really didn't see any significant reason as to why sleep wouldn't find her - especially not in her favorite place to sleep. In fact, usually she came to nap by the waterfall to relieve stress, and she had felt surprisingly at peace all day.
Scoffing, she now stood up completely, fixing her gaze on the waterfall yet again. She reflected on her day, trying to think of any explanation for sleep deprivation, but to no avail. Taking a breath to calm down a bit, she let her thoughts ebb away to focus on the sounds around her. The chirping of bugs and other sounds escaping the forest immediately relaxed her, along with the added comfort of the waterfall.
I should learn to enjoy days like this.

The day was nice, the sun was shining, the birds were singing and Risingpaw was... Sleeping. His chest rose and fell as he snored softly, dreaming of his fireflies. The sound of the waterfall canceled out most other sounds, but with his large ears, the young male was able to pick up the faint sound of claws scrapping across the ground. With the sound, he jolted up mumbling something about being awake. As his eyes focused, he noticed the outline of a feline sitting near the waterfall. Yawning, Risingpaw sat up, bumping his head on the ceiling of the small cave he had taken refuge in.
"Ow ow ow," he growled, rubbing his head with a paw. Then with a flick of his ear, he walked out into the open and toward the other cat. He looked funny with is large ears and lack of a tail, but he didn't mind. The apprentice liked the way he looked. "Hi Icefire," he chirped, prancing up to the warrior. His light golden eyes gleamed with curiosity as he spoke; "So what brings you here?" While waiting for his answer, he stretched his legs and yawned.

Icefire blinked in surprise at the sound of something besides the waterfall. She shifted her gaze on the cat before her, sitting up a little straighter. "Hello, Risingpaw," she mumbled awkwardly, not feeling very confident in her social skills. "Uh... Well I just finished hunting so to be honest I was jut relaxing a bit."
Icefire breathed a sigh, unsure of how to make conversation. What was an apprentice doing without a mentor around anyway? She cast a glance at Risingpaw once more, still feeling kind of awkward. She had no problem with him, but she was surprised he would really... want to talk to her.
"Why are you here?" She meowed flatly, coming off a bit too rude for her liking. She wanted to apologize immediately, but she thought better of it and waited for a response instead. Maybe he won't notice.
She wasn't sure how he would response, because now she was worried that she had hurt his feelings somehow. As a warrior speaking with an apprentice she wanted to look good, and now she just felt like a cranky old elder snapping at an apprentice for not bringing them enough bedding.

As Icefire spoke, the young feline nodded his head, understanding her reason completely. But to tell the truth, he had yet to do his duties for the day. Risingpaw had stayed up all night to watch his friends the fireflies. Suddenly he felt bad about sneaking off to the waterfall to catch up on his sleep. But it passed quickly, for he would stay up during the night to finish whatever he had to do. Though, he did really have much to do, as he lacked a mentor at the moment and was just doing what was expected of him.
When she asked what he was doing here, he kinda shrugged his shoulders and smiled sheepishly. "To tell the truth, I'm here to catch up on sleep... I really can't sleep at night." He was quiet for a moment while he thought about what else to say and not finding anything, he just blurted out something. "Want to see something cool?" he asked. Without giving any time to respond began to flex his right front leg until his shoulder popped out of its socket. "Cool, huh?"
