The sun was just past sunhigh and a cool breeze was whispering through the lands of Nightclan. The wind rustled the willow trees and stirred the water, hiding the sound of an approaching feline. Her large paws touched the ground softly as the spotted she-cat neared the edge of the Shadowed River. Her short tail twitched while her head peaked over the edge and a small smile crept onto her maw. The silhouette of fish swam beneath the surface and Mossfur's eye darted around to follow them. Finally picking a target, her paw lashed out, hitting the water and flinging a fish onto the bank. With a quick bite, the fish's struggling was over.
"Yes, it worked!" she cheered, prancing around her kill. Mossfur had worked on this hunting strategy for a few days and it had finally paid off. Now that that worked, she could move on to other hunting equations and strategies. Taking the fish in her jaws, she buried it near a willow tree and then sat down. Unsheathing a claw, she began to draw in the wet dirt, at first it was slow movements as she thought, then it became quicker and more defined.

What worked? The two purred, their voices breaking the silent barrier that had surrounded the shadowed river. Standing on the shore of the other side, the two brightly colored twins let their paws hang in the water, tails twitching in synchronization. With fire red pelts and equally startling green eyes, the brothers tilted their head in thought as they observed the intelligent cat, and whatever she was doing. A mere seconds they hadn't been there, but watching from the shadows. They might as well try to converse with this cat, after all it was two against one and from the strange markings she was scratching in the dirt, she was a smart one. Appearing almost whimsically, the two repeated their question, voices overlapping one another in a similar manner a river would overlap a smooth stone. What worked? The question was forwarded to the concentrated cat in a friendly, eager manner. Crash and Burn were always eager to learn. Loners from the wild stench that came off their fur, as all clan scents drifted in the air around them, with the sickening city smell of smoke and trash. Were they testing their luck by crossing into NightClan borders or were they merely stupid? Yes, perhaps stupid for the two brothers got up from their sitting positions in the riverbank and crossed over, treading the water with careful motions, as not to disturb the area. With a curious glint in their eye, the two tomcats tilted their heads, reading over the she-cat's shoulder. "Do you understand this brother?" So said the tom on the left who curiously sniffed the writing as though his nose would help clear up any confusion. He looked at the mere seconds older brother and twitched his whiskers in curiosity. The tom on the right of the she-cat held his breath in contemplation, his ears twitching in comedic fashion before he let it all out in a lackadaisical sigh, shaking his head. Nope, no idea."[/blockquote]
