Name: Firewing
Age: 32 moons
Gender: Male
Rank: Warrior
Clan: GustClan
Personality:
Firewing, first and foremost, is a serious tom. He has a rather cynical view of the world, almost dark and pessimistic. He isn't known for smiling very often, and jokes are almost unheard of. He takes things very seriously, with an almost scary amount of logic. He doesn't muck about - Firewing tends to be rather stern, and doesn't tolerate foolishness.
Cynical, gloomy and sarcastic, Firewing can be almost be an unpleasant cat to be around. He has a sharp tongue, and has the ability to reduce you down to nothing. Firewing doesn't believe in beating around the bush, and always says what comes to mind, however brutal and blunt it may be. Cats have often described him as cold, and that is partially true. He doesn't let very many cats get close to him, and his depressive and cynical nature often drives cats away.
For those who can manage to stand his biting remarks, his cold cynicism of the world, and melancholy nature, he is a very good friend. He doesn't change all that much from what he is normally, though he does appear a bit gentler. Just because he's stern doesn't mean he doesn't care. In fact, he cares all too much. He tends to take his responsibilities too seriously, and while he isn't suicidal by any means, tends to be a little bit too self sacrificing. He has trouble expressing his emotions because he is used to bottling them up, and now struggles showing when he's happy or sad. He's more likely to make some cutting remark than actually show he's happy.
Beneath this, you'll find a hard-working, caring tom who will do just about anything for those he cares about. Around his friends, Firewing is witty and sardonic, saying things with a dead panned face to make them laugh. He's very loyal to his Clan, and would rather die than betray it. Firewing is the type of cat you can go to for advice and while you might not like what he tells you, rest assured that he'll tell you the truth. He does what he can to help his friends, though knows when it isn't his business.
Firewing is one of those cats that when they get angry, you can be sure that someone is going to die. He has that cold temper that people fear so much. Instead of lashing out recklessly, he bottles it up, and becomes icy and distant, until it bursts. On the flip side, Firewing doesn't tend to hold grudges, so once he's blow up at you, you're golden. Unless you've done something truly unforgivable, in which you should probably run for your life.
Physical Description:
Although he doesn't put much stalk in appearances, Firewing is a handsome tom. At least, so he's been told. He definitely has this ragged look to him, mostly because of the impressive amount of scars. He's a fairly large tom, made for brute strength rather than speed. It isn't that he isn't fast or anything like that – he's just built more for tackling and squishing cats, not being agile and swift like a deer. He has unusually long claws, making him potentially one of the most deadliest cats in the forest – not that he goes around killing other cats for the fun of it. He just relies on brute strength to win most of his fights, and has the scars to prove it.
Firewing was named well. Unlike his siblings, who were both white and gray, he took his father's fur. His fur is an unusual deep ginger colour, almost fiery red, with light ginger stripes on his face. His paws are a creamy white sort of colour, the same as the smudge on his sides. His eyes are a deep golden hue, flecks of green and silver embedded in it. As said before, Firewing has a multitude of scars all over his huge body. The worse is a claw mark across one eye, though he's luckily not blinded. He walks with a slight limp, though no one can ever say that it makes him less of a warrior. He fights like a maniac, and will flay anyone who says otherwise.
History:
Firewing has had a fairly normal life, something that he is proud of. His parents were an odd couple, anyone would tell you. Mostly because they were so opposite. Rosepetal was a proud white she-cat who was rather hot-tempered and prone to be a bit on the reckless side. Rustfur, on the other hand, was a more laid-back, calm tom who tried to keep his mate from doing stupid things. It didn't always work, and was proven in the future. But when Rosepetal found out she was pregnant, she was actually depressed. She liked being a warrior, and a queen definitely wasn't the job for her. She continued her duties until the medicine cat finally ordered her into the nursery.
When Rosepetal gave birth to her kits, she found out that her milk didn't come. Her friend Tinyfoot fed them and, since Rosepetal really had no interest in her kits, named the three kits. Firekit was the oldest, then followed spunky tom Graykit, then sweet and gentle Poppykit. The kits grew up fast, Firekit always watching out for his younger siblings, both of whom inherited his mother's reckless streak. He was normally the one who reigned them back from doing something stupid, like his mother. A few months into their apprenticeship, Rosepetal attacked an enemy Clan patrol by herself and was killed. While he felt sad at her death, he really wasn't bothered, since she had never shown any interest in them at all.
Firepaw was a very serious apprentice, training hard and always doing his best. His mentor was his father, Rustfur, who would always brag about his son to the other warriors. No one was as proud as he was when Firepaw was made a warrior, two months before his brother and sister. Firewing was very proud when he stood his vigil. Though Poppypaw and Graypaw were both jealous of their brother, they were also incredibly proud. Alas, Graypaw never managed to see his warrior days – he caught whitecough not too long after Firewing's naming ceremony and died.
Firewing and Poppypaw were devastated. Firewing irrationally blamed himself, and to this day, doesn't mention Graypaw very much. Nevertheless, Poppypaw was proud to be named Poppyeyes after her brother's death, vowing to do his share too, and make him proud in StarClan. Firewing did so as well.
