Advertisement Rules [Updated as of 6/2/11]

If you're here to advertise your forum, you must follow the rules set up here. This is to help the staff here keep track of which advertisements to keep and which advertisements to archive. Advertisements that are archived have broken a rule (be it the general site rules or the advertisement rules) in one way or another.

1). Do not post one-line advertisements such as " please join, we have this many members and we're active!" We want to know about your forum. Give us details, tell us why we should join, and give us something that'll motivate us to be a part of that forum community.

2). Your site must be appropriate. I'm sure I speak for most, if not all, members here when I say that we don't want pornography or sick-to-the-stomach disturbing sites. You get the idea, right? Right.

3). We don't do join-for-joins here. Just because you join this site, it doesn't necessarily mean we'll join yours too. Don't even try to attempt a stunt like that, 'cause it won't work.

4) If this is your first time visiting GOA and it wasn't found through an ad I made on your own forum, please put "[FT]" in your advertisement thread's subject for "First Time." If you are advertising here following a link I posted on your forum, please put "[LB]" in your thread's subject for "Link Back." This will help keep things neater and easier to find without the hassle of having a bunch of sub-boards added to this board. Your ad will be locked if this isn't done.

5) Your forum must follow ProBoards ToS, and this also means that your forum's overall rating must be PG-13 or lower. If it has anything above what would be a PG-13 rating, the advertisement for that forum will be simply deleted, no questions asked.

6) Please only advertise ProBoards, InvisionFree, Freewebs, phpBB, or SuddenLaunch forums here. Anything else will be deleted.

7) If you post an ad here, you must have a guest-friendly board for us to link back on. This means I can easily find a spot to make a new thread in your ad board. It wouldn't be fair to let you freely advertise here if I can't link back to you, would it?

8) Don't let your ad image stretch the board. And please, don't post advertisements that are just pictures without any description of your site. Include detail, not just a promotion picture. I also expect links that can easily be found.

9) If your ad has been archived, feel free to re-post, but you need to pay closer attention to the rules.

This was updated due to a few complaints about the form, so hopefully this works better for all of you advertisers.

The advertisements are going to be cleaned up at the end of each month. This means locked ad's being moved to the archives.
